Child Nutrition

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Meadows Unions School District Child Nutrition Department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well-being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. Our team proudly serves breakfast, lunch, and supper each day.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

The Child Nutrition program provides portioned, balanced, healthy, and delicious meals to students in the Meadows Union School District.

We offer a large variety of options to meet the needs of all our students. All our bread items are made with whole grains. We offer a variety of fruits and vegetables including dark greens, red/oranges, legumes, and a variety of fresh and canned fruits.

All students are offered five food groups and are required to take at least three.

One of the three groups must be at least a 1/2 cup of fruit and/or vegetable.

It is our pleasure to serve your students each day.
